This is what has my time and attention as of 9 May 2019

  • This year, as I read through the Bible, I'm writing down things in a notebook rather than merely underlining passages and writing notes in the margins of the Bible I'm using. The practice has been invaluable.
  • I read, some years ago, in an old Pentecostal Herald (a publication of which H.C. Morrison was editor), in a column dedicated to young preachers, that one should always read the Bible with a notebook nearby. I wish I'd taken that advice sooner.
  • My daughter's summer reading for her upcoming 9th grade English class is The Odyssey. So, being a good dad, I got her Emily Wilson's new translation. I haven't read it yet, but I got it for my dad for Christmas a couple of years ago based on the reviews.
  • Pride and Prejudice is the 11th grade summer book. Or, in our house, a 7th grade book :-)
